Docking Bays
In the rare circumstances the people of the ship will need to explore outside, for exploration or even defense, this is the place they pick up their cruiser. At most at one time there are ten small ships in the area, the varying degrees of disrepair indicating how little they are used, but at a moments notice they could be assembled again and in fighting condition.
The ship didn't look like it landed as much as it was swarmed by the ships inhabitants. Rhod had sent out what was borderline a distress signal to most crews, and by the time the ship touched down there was almost every emergency crew on the ship out there to greet them, trying to crowd around the door as it slid open. They moved at once, sick and injured out, the sounds of voices roaring around the large hangar; people were always checking, sick, injured or dead, sick, injured or dead, there was little in between. Kai's body was taken away to be put in a tank and Sojana was surounded by large people hidden within hazmat suits. She'd have to be transported out of there in a bubble.
Sojana stood in her bubble with the boys a few paces back. She did not look forward to spending a great deal of time in quarantine.
One of the maintenance crew, who went by the name of Justin, had gathered
Kai's skeletal body in a hazmat bag and was carefully carrying it towards the the door. He managed to get his way through the large group of people, trying not to get jostled too hard. He knew that Miss Kai wasn't fragile, but any jostling while her body was not whole could lead to loose wires. He finally made it to one of the lifts and took it to the
Facility Quarters, where the medical facilities were.
D'mitri was moving about the chaos of people, each trying to do their own job. He was searching for the Commander when he spotted Sojana.
"What happened?" he asked as he approached.
"The cyborg Kai was infected and attacked."
Sojana answered. "When the captain used her deactivation code I got a face full of infected sludge."
"It was kinda hot." Rhodes said with a smirk, but Doors elbowed him in the side to shut him up.
"What kind of infection is this?" D'mitri asked.
"The mind altering violence inducing pain stopping kind"
Rhod said as he appeared. He put a hand against D'mitri's chest and pushed him back a few steps "She's quaranteened D'mitri, I'm sure you can talk to her later. Get her out of here NOW!" he barked to the people who were meant to be transporting her out.
D'mitri watched as Sojana was taken away in her quarantine bubble.
"How many casualties?" he asked as he looked around.
"On the rescue team, only Kai and Sojana, with the rescued... almost every person is a casualty. They will need a seperate ward, I don't want this spreading by accident, I think they are clean but they will need guards... with lots of sedative guns."
Rhod was back on his home turf now, he could do good here "We have infected, they will have to be seperated and most probably cryogenically frozen to stop them from destroying themsevles. We need scientists working on a cure. But right now I need your people escorting the rescued with your sedation guns, don't touch them, just walk with the medics, guard them. Some of these people will need surgery, your lads are to post a pair outside the doors, just in case something happens."
"Sir?" Doors asked D'Mitri "We've all the material we need in the armory. Shall I have the boys outfit your men with the proper equipment?" He of course was referring to tranq guns and body armor, the latter should any of the refugees become violent.
"We should have all that we need, but check with my other officers and they will let you know if they require anything." D'mitri said to the offer. He then turned his attention to Rhod,
"I will have my men fan out and guard all essential personnel that are involved."
"Consider it done sir." Doors replied and departed to speak with The Chief's officers."
"Alright"
Rhod said softly, looking around and rubbing his hands together slowly "This is kinda sorting itself out now, get them all in place with their tranqs, D'mitri I want you to go look over Sojana personally. The doc and the nurse here will be very busy, so we're going to need you to look after her because you can contact the staff directly if you need help..." He was feeling drained from this, he so wanted to just... sleep.
"
Yes sir."
D'mitri said as he turned around and left the docking bay for the
facility quarters.
Right, now he had to get in contact with some others. Pressing his fingers against his temples, he closed his eyes and concentrated. The mental link made it easier to call in an emergency, but he hadn't used that much, and the computer was busy trying to download everything from his memory. He knew that in the main office of the below decks area a tranciever was ringing.
